Artful gardens: Citrus, cacti and much more

5 years ago Gardening

Steve and Linda, Artful GardensSteve and Linda visited El Mola Garden Centre to explore the huge variety of plants that are available to gardeners here in Catalunya.

I recently spoke to the family that owns El Mola Garden Centre, outside El Perelló. Pepe and her husband Antonio started the business 20 years ago. Their daughter Paula became a partner two years ago, and the future also includes Paula’s 20-year-old son Ruben – the third generation of staff at the centre now.

We walked around and took a selection of photographs (below) showing just some of the range of plants, bushes and trees. El Mola also offers fertilisers, ceramics, wooden and metal fencing, screens and dividers.

El Mola will have a stand at Firabril in El Perelló on 8 and 9 April. You’ll find an impressive display of aromatic and decorative plants, hardy shrubs, bushes and fruit trees. Paula and her son Ruben will be on hand to advise you about planting and maintaining these essentials for a thriving Mediterranean garden.
