Carnival in El Perelló took place – in spite of the rain – on Friday 12 and Saturday 13 February.
The under-threes kicked off the celebrations, all dressed as medics. Their truck and sound system took to the streets on Friday morning. After a circuit of the village, they were rewarded with a chocolatada (hot chocolate and biscuits) back at the nursery.
On Friday afternoon the schoolchildren dressed up – many of them as clowns – and followed the band Xim Xim Mig Grau through the village. Entertainment was provided for them afterwards at the Hotel D’Entitats.
On Saturday evening the serious celebrations took place: there were astronauts, snails, calçots, smurfs, minions and many, many more crazy costumes.
