Follow a honey tapas route in El Perelló this weekend

5 years ago News

The second annual Ruta de la Tapa amb Mel – the honey tapas route – runs from 31 March to 2 April in El Perelló.

Eight bars and restaurants in the town will offer a tapa, featuring the town’s famous product – honey,  alongside a beer or water. A ticket for three tapas costs six euros, and also includes free entry to Mel Muria’s honey centre and entry into a raffle.

The event is organised by Mel Muria, and aims to build publicity for Firabril, the honey and oil festival which takes place during the following weekend of 8 and 9 April.

Participating bars and restaurants are: L’Ambigu, Can Subirats, C’Moi, El Canyis, Fleca Ferré, Homogenik, La Plaça and Mos de Tros.

Participants can vote for their favourite tapa via Mel Muria’s Facebook page. All Facebook voters have a chance to win a hamper of bee products. The winning tapa will be decided upon by a jury selected by Mel Muria, taking into account the Facebook votes too.

Tickets are on sale from Mel Muria’s shop, the bars and restaurants that are participating and the town’s final year schoolchildren.

Tapas tasting takes place at the following times:

  • Friday 31 March, 7pm to 9pm
  • Saturday 1 April, 12pm to 2pm and 7pm to 9.30pm
  • Sunday 2 April, 12pm to 2pm and 7pm to 9.30pm

Prizes will be awarded at Mel Muria’s stand at Firabril at 5.30pm on Saturday 8 April.
