Join the El Perelló art group and explore your creative side
A message from Maggie, host of the El Perelló art group…
The El Perelló art group meets each Wednesday from 11am to 1pm at Maggie’s.
This is an informal meeting of people from all around the area who’d like to practise their fondness for drawing, painting, collage or anything else we fancy trying. We are a diverse group, some have never done anything since their school days, some have simply got out of the habit, and some have been enthusiastically ‘having a go’ for a while.
We all choose our subjects and the medium we wish to use. You can see some of our work below.
Sue’s favourite subjects are birds and boats and she hates drawing trees. She uses crayons and water colours. Philip prefers to intricately draw motor scooters and buildings, adding colour wash where he thinks it will improve the finished result. I try water colours, pen and ink, or charcoal with trees, flowers and landscapes as my subjects. John and Mary joined us last year, both saying they couldn’t draw but willing to try. They’ve both continued to enjoy each week when they are in this area and they certainly cannot now say they ‘can’t draw’!
They could but didn’t realise it.
Our numbers vary from week to week, sometimes seven or eight, depending on who is on holiday, who is too busy with other commitments and who is just determined to finish a project. Not everyone can come every week but simply come when they can.
So, bring along your ideas and equipment and join us. We always start with coffee or tea and a chat, discussing what we’re aiming to do.
If you’d like to come and see what we do, call me and one of us will meet you in El Perelló.
My telephone numbers are: 977 092 357 or mobile: 634 338 555.
