Two Perellonencs cycle the Camino de Santiago
Two residents of El Perelló, Steve Bradish and Lidia Gazola, are cycling the Camino de Santiago. Over around 15 days they will cover 1,000 km from Tortosa to the famous destination of pilgrims from all over the world, Santiago de Compostela.
They set off on Wednesday 26 April. Steve, who has run 21 marathons, told Ebre Connect that he’s doing it for the challenge and because he loves cycling. Problems with his knees mean that he can no longer run. “For me, it’s partly for spiritual reasons, but mostly for the athletic challenge.”
There are many different routes to choose from. Steve and Lidia are following the ‘Ruta del Ebro’ (or Jacobean Way) and then joining the more famous ‘Route Frances’ (French Way) at Logroño.
Coming soon – Steve and Lidia’s first days in the saddle.
